NVPS has an energetic new Field Trips Coordinator, "JP" Panter, who has come up with great a list of forthcoming field trips plus ideas for many more. Some are straight photoshoots and others are opportunities to attend photographic or artisitc activities with fellow NVPS members. The unedited list can be viewed here.
The first of JP's photoshoots will be to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum in Walnut Creek. This will be a mid-week event, happening on Wednesday August 25th. $7.00 admission. Note that photography is for personal use only. JP plans to leave at 9:15 am, the Museum opens at 10am. To share a ride call JP in advance (Cell: 707.287.1342) and meet in the South Target Parking lot (along the row of trees on Shelter Ave.).
Our regular NVPS meeting in September will feature a critique from Northern California Wedding photographer Chuck Honek, focusing on People, with a sub-category, Romance. There is a plan to link this with a photoshoot Sunday September 12th, when JP will be leading a trip to Golden Gate Park, where there are FREE outdoor Swing dance lessons, couples and families enjoying the park, and of course always an opportunity to visit the museums, tea garden or take a stroll through nearby Haight Ashbury. This trip happens rain or shine. To share a ride call JP in advance (Cell: 707.287.1342) and meet in the South Target Parking lot (along the row of trees on Shelter Ave.).

Sierra Trip. NVPS will be going to Lee Vining to photograph fall color in the Eastern Sierra. Lee Vining is on highway 395 near Mono Lake. The trip is scheduled for October 16, 17 & 18 but members can come in earlier, later, or just one or two of those days, whatever fits. The club will also photograph Mono Lake, Bodie, and maybe even you.
The first choice for accommodation is Murphy’s Hotel in Lee Vining, 1-760-647-6316. Because of the popularity of witnessing the fall color and fantastic fishing available, Murphy’s is filling up fast Other hotels and motels in the area can be found on the internet.
